The fountain pen ink cartridge inside the barrel may settle during shipping. If it doesn’t come out easily, a few gentle taps of the barrel against a hard surface will help release it.
Use: For fountain pens, unscrew your Kaweco pen barrel from the grip section near the nib. Remove the current ink cartridge, and firmly press in a new cartridge—you'll feel a light click. Hold the pen nib-down to let the ink flow to the feed, and after a few test strokes, you're ready to write!
